In December 2015, nineteen year old Katelin Akens traveled from Arizona back to her hometown in Virginia to visit with family. Days later, she disappeared on her way to the airport to fly back home to Arizona. Two days after her disappearance, her suitcase was found with a broken wheel, discarded along the side of the road nearly sixty miles away from the airport where she was supposed to have departed from.
