A week long hunt by police to piece together a gruesome jigsaw to identify a murder victim.On Thursday, April 23, 2009, police arrested two people on suspicion of murder in North London.The trial of Stephen Marshall, 38, of Borehamwood and his girlfriend Sarah Bush, 21, accused of murdering Jeffrey Howe, began at St Albans Crown Court on January 12, 2010. On January 13, prosecutor Stuart Trimmer told the court that: “The flesh of the scalp and face had been removed.“The eyes, ears, tongue and structures with the neck had been cut away and of course it had been severed from the body.”The Crown’s case was that the lovers had stabbed the man to death in his home in Southgate, north London, between March 8 and March 9 in 2009.On February 1, 2010, Marshall was jailed for life with a minimum sentence of 36 years for the murder of Mr Howe.Before dramatically changing his plea: Dramatically mid-trial Marshall changed his plea to guilty and admitted murdering Jeffrey Howe as well as dismembering four other bodies for a notorious crime family. Marshall had blamed his girlfriend for the murder and denied any part in it.Bush was jailed for three years and three months, for her role in disposing of Mr Howe’s body.
