This week, in the introductory episode of Cam's long promised series on the 'Fall' of the Western Roman Empire, and the rise of the 'Barbarians' we outline the mission statement for the series as a whole, and discuss the state of the Roman Empire from the late-2nd Century up through the mid-4th Century CE. This includes the Antonine Plague, the Crisis of the 3rd Century, the brief but glorious reign of Emperor Aurelian, the sundering of the Empire by the Emperor Diocletian, and the early introduction of the Goths and their friends.
