The police went back to square one, looking for new suspects. However the crime scene was badly contaminated, and the investigation was poorly handled. The only evidence they found was two fingerprints, but they didn’t match anyone. There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment, and one of the gates was latched, not locked, which made it seem like someone had left through that gate and latched it from the outside.
