On May 8, 2019, 35-year-old physical therapist and yoga teacher, Amanda Eller, set off on what she thought would be a hike along a trail in the Makawao Forest Reserve, Hawaii. Part way through the hike, she realised she had become disoriented and lost. Without a cell phone, water bottle, map, or any supplies, she fought to survive in the wilderness, with only intuition to guide her. She was rescued 17 days later, injured, but alive.
