She kisses her husband goodbye that morning as he heads to school, and she tells him that she plans to run errands, have lunch with a friend, and have a quiet dinner in with him that evening. She talks to friends and family that morning who call to wish her a Happy Birthday, but she stops responding in the early afternoon. When her husband comes home, he walks into a nightmare. Despite the brutality of her murder, motive could not be established and the case seemed to be a random and senseless act of violence.
