On December 15, 1997, ten-day-old Delimar Vera died in a tragic housefire when her homecaught fire unexpectedly. After a brief investigation, identified the cause of the fire and deemed the babyâs death an accident and further claimed that the girlâs remains had been completely destroyed in the blaze. Her mother was skeptical of their explanation and struggled to accept her daughterâs death. Six years after the fire, Luz was at a party where she ran into Pedroâs cousin, whom she hadnât seen in several years.
