During the week of May 28 to June 3, 2025, Colorado Springs Police and El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple incidents across the city and surrounding areas. On May 28, in the southeast neighborhood near Airport Road and Academy Boulevard, officers responded to an alleged motor vehicle theft. The vehicle was reportedly taken overnight. The incident remains under investigation.Later that afternoon in the area of Briargate Parkway and Austin Bluffs Parkway, a report was filed for alleged burglary at a local business. Entry was made after closing hours and electronics were reported missing. This case is under investigation.On May 29, a disturbance involving alleged assault was reported in the vicinity of West Colorado Avenue and 31st Street. One subject sustained minor injuries. The incident is under active investigation with no arrests announced.That evening, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Peterson Road and Constitution Avenue in Cimarron Hills. Emergency responders provided assistance; no major injuries reported. (Case number 2023-00031786)On May 30, an alleged shoplifting incident was reported at a retail outlet near Powers Boulevard and North Carefree Circle. Merchandise was recovered and one adult arrest was made at the scene.Around midday on May 31, police were called to the area of Academy Boulevard and Palmer Park Boulevard for an alleged domestic disturbance. No arrests were made; the parties were separated and the situation is being monitored.On June 1, a check the welfare request was responded to in the Stratmoor Valley area. All parties were located and determined to be safe. (Case number 2023-00031779)In a separate incident on June 2, near the intersection of Marksheffel Road and Drennan Road, officers investigated an alleged hit-and-run traffic accident. The suspect vehicle fled the scene, and police are requesting public assistance. Suspect description: late-model silver sedan, significant front-end damage, last seen heading south on Marksheffel Road.On the evening of June 3, a report of alleged property damage was made in the downtown area near Tejon Street and Kiowa Street. Windows were broken at a local business. The incident is under investigation; no arrests reported.This week, law enforcement noted a rise in property crime reports, including burglary and theft, as well as multiple traffic-related incidents in the eastern and southeastern parts of Colorado Springs.
