Between August 16 and August 22 in Colorado Springs, several notable criminal incidents were reported and investigated by local law enforcement. On August 21, five individuals were arrested and three stolen vehicles were recovered in a coordinated BATTLE operation. This operation, conducted with assistance from the El Paso County Sheriffâs Office and Colorado State Patrol, targeted auto theft hotspots throughout the city. According to Colorado Springs police, officers apprehended Daniel Flore, age 49, in a parking lot near the Antero Apartments at South Academy Boulevard and U.S. 24. Flore was found to have an outstanding warrant for alleged auto theft out of Lakewood. During the same operation, police also arrested Jashua Kresky, 43, a known auto theft offender who was allegedly operating a vehicle previously unconnected to him but believed to be stolen. Both individuals were booked into the El Paso County jail and investigations are ongoing.A separate case during the week began when police responded to a residential burglary near East Woodmen Road and Rangewood Drive on July 24. In that incident, a Ford Explorer was stolen after a suspect discovered the vehicle parked in an unlocked garage along with its keys and a 9mm handgun. After investigative follow-up, detectives located the Explorer and attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect fled. The vehicle was later tracked to an apartment complex across town, where officers observed suspects Chance Davidson, 29, and River Sealock, 30, leaving the scene. Both men attempted to escape by entering a vehicle driven by Jesse McCoon, 29. Sheriffâs deputies blocked the car's exit, and all three were arrested on allegations related to auto theft. Police report both Sealock and McCoon had multiple outstanding warrants and have been identified as prolific auto theft offenders. The case numbers for these incidents were not made public as of broadcast time, but all suspects remain in custody pending additional charges.Earlier in the week, another BATTLE operation, also supported by multi-agency law enforcement teams, resulted in three additional arrests and the recovery of seven stolen vehicles. Authorities have not released further case details. At this time, police are not seeking public assistance on these incidents and have not released suspect descriptions since all known suspects are in custody.A trend observed over the past week highlights a continued focus by law enforcement on combating organized auto theft in the city, often targeting repeat offenders and employing special operations across multiple agencies.Listeners with information about any unresolved or related criminal activity are encouraged to contact Colorado Springs Police at 719-444-7000 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP.Thank you for tuning in to the daily crime report.
