Last Wednesday evening in the Florence neighborhood, Omaha police responded to a reported alleged burglary at a commercial property. Employees arriving for a late shift discovered a broken window and missing equipment. No arrests have been made, and the case remains under investigation. On Thursday afternoon, near 72nd and Dodge, officers were dispatched to an alleged strong-arm robbery involving a victim who reported having a wallet and cell phone stolen by two unidentified individuals. The suspects fled toward a nearby shopping center. Omaha Police released a description: both suspects were described as male, mid-twenties, approximately 6', wearing dark hoodies. Officers are asking anyone with information to come forward.Friday night in Benson, an alleged vehicle theft was reported from a parking lot near Maple Street. The owner stated their sedan was stolen sometime between 8 pm and midnight. At this time, no suspects have been identified and the vehicle has not been recovered. The investigation is ongoing. In the early hours of Saturday in the Aksarben area, police responded to a disturbance outside a nightclub. One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries after an alleged assault. Officers questioned several witnesses at the scene, and the incident is being investigated as an aggravated assault.Sunday afternoon, near South 24th Street, officers were called to investigate an alleged vandalism incident. Multiple parked vehicles had windows smashed, with personal property missing from at least two cars. Omaha police are reviewing area surveillance footage. Monday morning in the Old Market, a report was filed on a purse-snatching incident. The victim described the suspect as a female, late teens, wearing a red jacket and jeans, fleeing northbound. Police have released this description in hopes of receiving tips from the public.Later on Monday near 90th and West Center, officers responded to an alleged catalytic converter theft from a delivery van parked at a business. The case remains open for further leads. Tuesday morning, Dundee area police responded to the discovery of graffiti on a school building, reported as alleged criminal mischief. No suspects have been identified at this time.Throughout the week, alleged property crimes, including vehicle break-ins and thefts from garages, were reported with increased frequency in the Midtown corridor. Police advise area residents and business owners to secure valuables and remain vigilant. Suspect descriptions have only been shared in cases where police are actively seeking public help.
