Early Tuesday morning in the Benson neighborhood, officers responded to an alleged burglary at a commercial property near North 60th Street. Later that same day in the South Omaha area, police arrested an adult male for alleged possession of a controlled substance near L Street and South 24th. Officers recovered what appeared to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop. The individual was taken into custody and charges are pending.On Thursday evening in the midtown district, a disturbance was reported at a local park on Dodge Street. Responding officers discovered two individuals engaged in an altercation. One was cited for alleged disorderly conduct and released at the scene. Shortly after midnight on Friday in the Florence neighborhood, patrol units responded to a complaint of a suspicious person tampering with vehicles parked near North 30th Avenue. One adult male was arrested for alleged unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and is currently being held while detectives continue their investigation.Over the weekend, Sunday morning in the Blackstone area, officers observed a suspected impaired driver operating erratically near Farnam and 40th. The driver was stopped and subsequently arrested for alleged DWI; charges are pending laboratory test results.A countywide U.S. Marshals initiative, according to the U.S. Marshals Service, resulted in multiple fugitive arrests this week in partnership with the Omaha Police Department. Operation “Apex Hammer” focused on locating individuals wanted on outstanding felony warrants, and several arrests relating to violent and property crime suspects were made across the metropolitan area.Earlier this week in the Midtown Crossing district, police responded to a report of alleged indecent exposure at a public venue during daylight hours. A male suspect was cited at the scene, and the status is listed as charges forwarded to the County Attorney for review.At this time, Omaha Police report a continued focus on drug possession cases, property crimes after dark, and an increase in vehicle tampering incidents.
