On Friday evening near 42nd and Ames, patrol officers responded to an alleged robbery at a convenience store. The store clerk reported a suspect displayed a firearm and demanded cash before fleeing on foot. The Omaha Police Department describes the suspect as a Black male, approximately 5'10", wearing a blue hoodie and gray sweatpants. Authorities are seeking public assistance in identifying or locating this individual and encourage anyone with information to contact the Omaha Crime Stoppers hotline.Over the weekend, the Old Market area saw an alleged assault outside a late-night establishment. According to responding officers, a physical altercation resulted in injuries to one individual, who was treated at the scene. No arrests have yet been reported, and detectives are reviewing surveillance video. Also on Saturday, officers in South Omaha responded to a report of a stolen vehicle near 24th and Q Streets. The vehicle was recovered several hours later in a neighboring district. This incident remains open with ongoing efforts by investigators.A vehicle break-in was reported in the Dundee area on Thursday afternoon. The reporting party stated that a side window was smashed and a purse stolen from the front seat. There have been increased reports of similar alleged thefts from vehicles in the area, and police remind listeners not to leave valuables in plain view.On Monday morning near 72nd and Dodge, officers arrested a suspect in connection to an alleged catalytic converter theft. The arrest occurred after a witness called in suspicious activity in a parking lot. The suspect was taken into custody, and property believed stolen was recovered. The case is pending formal charges.North Omaha experienced an alleged shots-fired incident late Tuesday near 30th and Lake. Multiple shell casings were recovered, but no injuries were reported. The case is under investigation, and police ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.Throughout the past week, there have not been any reported patterns of violent crime increases, though property crimes involving vehicle and residential theft continue to occur.
