Between April 1 and April 7, 2025, the Aurora Police Department responded to the following criminal incidents:In the City Center North neighborhood on April 1, officers responded to a reported aggravated assault involving a knife near Alameda Avenue and Chambers Road. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the suspect fled the scene. The case is under investigation.On April 3, in the Del Mar Parkway area, a robbery was reported near East Colfax Avenue and Havana Street. The victim described being approached by an individual who forcibly took personal belongings before fleeing. The case is under investigation.A motor vehicle theft occurred on April 4 in the Meadowood neighborhood near South Buckley Road and East Yale Avenue. A parked vehicle was reportedly stolen overnight. Police have no suspects, and the case remains open.On April 5, in the Saddle Rock neighborhood near South Gartrell Road and East Arapahoe Road, officers investigated a report of burglary. A business was broken into overnight, and electronics were reportedly stolen. The case is under investigation.Later that day, in the Hoffman Heights neighborhood near Potomac Street and East 6th Avenue, a hit-and-run incident was reported involving two vehicles. No injuries were sustained. Police are seeking witnesses to aid the investigation.On April 6, near North Aurora, police responded to a reported drug-related offense at a park near Montview Boulevard and Peoria Street. A suspect was arrested on charges of possession of illegal substances. Case number 20250406-1532.In the Aurora Highlands neighborhood on April 7, officers responded to a report of shots fired near South Tower Road and East Mississippi Avenue. No injuries were reported, and shell casings were recovered at the scene. The case is under active investigation.Throughout the week, a pattern of increased property crimes, particularly motor vehicle thefts and burglaries, was observed.
