During the week of April 14 to April 20, 2025, Aurora police responded to several notable incidents. On Thursday evening, in the Montview and Peoria neighborhood, officers responded to a fatal shooting. A 15-year-old suspect was arrested by the Major Crimes Homicide Unit in connection with this case. The investigation remains ongoing.In central Aurora, there were multiple reports of alleged motor vehicle thefts concentrated near Colfax Avenue and Havana Street. Several vehicles were reported stolen and are under active investigation.A robbery was reported near Tower Road and Alameda Parkway on Tuesday afternoon. The suspect, described as a male in dark clothing, displayed a weapon before fleeing on foot. Police are actively seeking public assistance to identify and locate this individual. Anyone with information is asked to contact Aurora Police.Officers responded to an alleged burglary at a business in the vicinity of Chambers Road and Iliff Avenue. Entry was reportedly forced overnight, and property was taken. The case is under investigation; no arrests have been made.A disturbance involving an alleged assault occurred Friday evening near Sable Boulevard and 6th Avenue. The alleged suspect fled prior to arrival. The case remains open.Throughout the week, police also took multiple reports of alleged vandalism and theft from vehicles, particularly in the Saddle Rock and Meadow Hills neighborhoods. These cases remain under investigation.There is a continued pattern of motor vehicle-related crimes, including thefts and break-ins, concentrated around main thoroughfares such as Colfax Avenue, Havana Street, and Tower Road.
