In the past week in Aurora, police responded to a fatal officer-involved shooting at a business in northeast Aurora on Monday, May 12. An officer was dispatched following a report of a suspicious person. During the encounter, the officer discharged their weapon, resulting in a fatality. The incident remains under investigation by authorities.On the evening of Wednesday, May 14, officers arrived at the parking lot of the Market Square shopping center near South Havana Street following reports of a shooting. A dispute, allegedly escalating into an altercation, led to three individuals being shot. A 43-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 36-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. A 46-year-old woman, also shot, was taken to a hospital by private vehicle and is being treated for serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing and police have not announced any arrests.
