AURORA POLICE DEPARTMENT CRIME DIGEST - Week of May 12-18, 2025On Monday, May 12, a fatal officer-involved shooting occurred at a business in northeast Aurora. An Aurora Police Department patrol officer responding to a report of a suspicious person was involved in the incident. The shooting is currently under investigation.A triple shooting took place Wednesday evening, May 14, at the Market Square shopping center parking lot on South Havana Street. Officers responded around 8:36 p.m. and found two men with gunshot wounds. A 43-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 36-year-old man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Additionally, a 46-year-old woman was taken to the hospital by private vehicle with serious injuries. According to APD Agent Matthew Longshore, the incident stemmed from "some sort of fight dispute that led up to the shooting." The case remains under active investigation.Early Sunday morning, May 18, at approximately 1:00 a.m., two teenage males were shot during a dispute at a house party in south Aurora on Andes Street. A 19-year-old male suffered serious injuries, while another male of similar age sustained life-threatening injuries. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital. Initial investigations revealed that a fight broke out during the party before an unidentified suspect began shooting.
