AURORA POLICE BLOTTER - JUNE 1, 2025Early Sunday morning, around 12:30 a.m., a fatal shooting occurred near Aurora Fire Rescue Station 2 at Hoffman Boulevard. A 15-year-old girl was killed and two others injured, including a 20-year-old woman expected to survive and a minor who sustained a graze wound. Police believe the shooting happened in the fire station parking lot but was not connected to the facility or firefighters. Investigators are seeking suspects in what they describe as an "isolated incident." The investigation remains active.On May 12, 2025, at approximately 3 p.m., officers responded to a trespassing call at an airport parking lot in the 19900 block of East 56th Avenue. The suspect, later identified as 32-year-old Rashad Terrelle Johnson, was allegedly checking vehicle door handles and refusing to leave. When confronted by police around 5:15 p.m., Johnson reportedly became combative, charging an officer and initiating a physical altercation. After unsuccessful attempts to subdue Johnson with less-lethal devices and verbal commands, an officer-involved shooting occurred. Johnson was transported to a local hospital where he later died from life-threatening injuries. The officer sustained minor injuries during the confrontation.In other enforcement activity, Hudson officers arrested Abel Vergara on June 1 for allegedly driving with a revoked license. Vergara was reportedly traveling 91 mph in a 75 mph zone when stopped.The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit also recently announced the arrest of two individuals connected to a fatal vehicle versus motorcycle collision.
