AURORA POLICE BLOTTER - JUNE 1-7, 2025Homicide - 12600 block of East Hoffman Boulevard - June 1, 2025, approximately 12:30 a.m. A fatal shooting occurred near Aurora Fire Rescue Station 2 resulting in the death of a 15-year-old female victim. The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit investigated the incident. On June 5, authorities arrested a 14-year-old male suspect from Colorado Springs on charges of first-degree homicide, 10 counts of attempted first-degree homicide, and two counts of possession of a handgun by a juvenile. The suspect was initially held at El Paso County Jail and will be transferred to Arapahoe County Jail to face charges in Arapahoe Juvenile Court. During the investigation, police recovered two firearms (9mm and .380-caliber handguns) from the suspect's residence. Formal charges will be filed by the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office. The investigation was aided by community tips and collaboration between Aurora and Colorado Springs police departments.The investigation into this incident demonstrates the effectiveness of inter-agency cooperation, as Aurora Police partnered with Colorado Springs Police Department's Strategic Investigations Unit to apprehend the suspect.
