During the week of June 30 to July 7, 2025, Aurora Police responded to several significant criminal incidents.On Sunday, June 29, at 1:45 a.m., two men experiencing homelessness were fatally stabbed on Moline Street near Colfax Avenue. A second related stabbing occurred just before 6:30 a.m. the same day at Peoria and Colfax, approximately half a mile from the first location. Detectives have confirmed the incidents are connected and have arrested Ricky Roybal-Smith, 38, of Aurora, who is currently in custody in Denver on an unrelated homicide charge. Roybal-Smith faces two counts of first-degree murder in Aurora and will be transferred to Adams County jail. Police responded to the apartment and found a 61-year-old woman deceased from apparent gunshot wounds, along with the suspected firearm. The suspect, Phil Archuleta, was taken into custody and faces a first-degree murder charge in the 18th Judicial District. The shooting is under investigation, and the name of the deceased woman will be released by coroner officials.
