The suspect was reportedly seen attempting to enter parked vehicles in a business lot. Police apprehended the individual after a short foot pursuit. The case remains active, with charges pending review.On July 12, a burglary was reported in the Hoffman Heights area. Responding officers found evidence of forced entry at a retail location and catalogued minor property damage. No arrests have been made and Aurora police request tips from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area during the early hours.July 11 brought a call of alleged aggravated assault near Colfax Avenue and Havana Street. A male victim reported being confronted and struck by a group of unknown individuals around 7:30 p.m. The individuals fled before officers arrived. The case is under investigation, and Aurora police seek public assistance in identifying suspects described as three males, all in dark clothing, last seen heading north on Havana.The afternoon of July 10, officers responded to South Parker Road and East Iliff Avenue to investigate a domestic violence complaint. An adult female was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Aurora Detention Center. The case is being reviewed by the district attorney’s office.On July 9, a motor vehicle theft was reported from a residential block near the Meadow Hills neighborhood. The incident occurred overnight and the vehicle remains missing. No suspect description was available at the time of the report.According to recent Aurora City Council and police statements, officers are continuing an investigation into gang activity in apartments near North Chambers Road following new video evidence released by local residents.
