According to the Federal Newswire, on August 3 in northwest Aurora, police responded to a domestic violence homicide near the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Peoria Street. Authorities allege Castellano Fonseca forcibly entered an apartment and shot two women, reportedly his wife and sister-in-law, in front of five children. Fonseca was arrested at the scene and remains in custody. ICE lodged a detainer following the homicide charge, and the case is currently under investigation by city and federal law enforcement. The case number was not provided by police.Last week, efforts in the Sable-Altura/Hoffman Heights area focused on locating a missing juvenile believed to have run away from home. Police canvassed the vicinity and engaged with community partners. There were no public appeals for assistance and no updates on the juvenile’s status have been issued.On August 5 near Mississippi Avenue and Sable Boulevard, officers investigated an alleged vehicle burglary after a local resident reported seeing suspects breaking a car window and removing several items. The suspects were described as two males in dark hoodies. No arrests were made, and the case remains under investigation.Aurora Police continue to request public assistance identifying a suspect in a string of catalytic converter thefts reported August 7-9 across the Meadowood and Tollgate Overlook neighborhoods. The individual is described as a male, approximately six feet tall, wearing a gray jacket and black pants, last seen driving a late-model red Toyota Corolla. Anyone with information is urged to contact Aurora Police.In north Aurora, police responded to the Regatta Plaza shopping center on the evening of August 8 following reports of multiple vehicle break-ins. Surveillance footage captured a suspect in a white hoodie and black jeans targeting vehicles in the south parking lot. The incidents are being investigated as part of a recent rise in property crimes affecting the area.No significant assaults, robberies, or shootings have been reported in central Aurora during this period. According to police sources, patrols have been increased in the Fletcher neighborhood in response to community concerns over recent disturbances, but no new incidents were logged this week.Reviewing submissions from the past seven days, alleged domestic violence and vehicle-related property crimes represent the majority of reported incidents, with several cases involving theft from vehicles concentrated around retail and apartment complexes.
