Welcome to Part II of Little Known Hauntings in Rochester, NY. This time, we are going to tell the tales of Eliza of the Tracks, The Green Lantern Inn and The Manitou Road Demon. A woman named Eliza is said to haunt the railroad tracks which are no longer active between Rochester and Syracuse. Said to be a ghostly figure in hoop skirts, Elizaâs tale is one of betrayal and mistrust. The Green Lantern Inn in Fairport NY was a social hub through most of the early 20th century. Now on the National Register of Historic Places, it is rumored to be haunted by its original owner, Henry A. DeLand. A few paranormal groups have investigated the Inn, recording some mysterious happenstances. The Manitou Road Demon is said to haunt the 7.7 mile road in Greece NY. One woman had a narrow encounter with the demon, describing it as more malevolent than a beast.
