Episode 62

In the 1830s, a wealthy Kentucky man commissioned a finely crafted wooden chest — and unknowingly unleashed nearly two centuries of tragedy. According to legend, the cabinetmaker, cheated and mistreated, cursed the piece with a rootwork spell. From that day on, death and misfortune seemed to strike anyone who stored their belongings inside: infants who slept in blankets from the chest, adults who handled its contents, even owners who tried to destroy it. Passed down through generations, the so-called “Conjure Chest” left a trail of mysterious deaths so long that it now resides in the Kentucky History Museum… locked, sealed, and never to be opened again.
