In February 1991, 22-year-old Beverley Allitt started her first job as a children’s nurse at Lincolnshire’s Grantham and Kesteven Hospital. After less than a week in her new role, 7-week-old Liam Taylor was being treated on the children’s ward for a chest infection. He recovered from two respiratory emergencies, but his luck ran out when he was on his own with Beverley. Even though the attending team did their best to save Liam, he later died from a heart attack. He was to become the first of Beverley’s young victims. Three more would be murdered and another nine would be scarred for life from the trauma they endured.Sources: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/nov/22/study-identified-key-traits-serial-killer-nurses https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7571648/ https://www.biography.com/crime/beverley-allitt https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-66997014 https://www.newarkadvertiser.co.uk/news/serial-killer-denied-move-to-mainstream-prison-9343577/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2270251/ https://www.the-independent.com/news/uk/twin-baby-girl-was-killed-with-insulin-injection-1473435.html https://www.the-independent.com/news/child-murderer-confesses-at-last-1510845.html https://www.the-independent.com/news/uk/nurse-guilty-on-new-charge-2323357.html https://www.the-independent.com/news/uk/drawn-curtains-in-a-silent-village-the-beverly-allitt-case-on-friday-this-baby-killer-will-be-sentenced-for-26-attacks-including-four-murders-what-do-they-make-of-it-all-back-home-2324732.html https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/off-licence https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/support/support-topics/understanding-our-qualifications/our-qualifications-explained/about-cses.html https://thinkstudent.co.uk/what-are-cse-qualifications-equivalent-to/ https://www.batemansbrewery.co.uk/find-a-pint/fighting-cocks/ https://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/2023/08/22/beverley-allitt-how-caught-nurse-serial-killer-angel-death/ https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/aug/26/lucy-letby-case-kayley-asher-survivor-of-beverley-allitt-attacks
